Victoria Falls is one of the only places in the world where the Big 5 and humans co-habitat peacefully. The Big 5 are the five animals that are most dangerous to people and include: Lion, Elephants, Buffalo, Hippo and the Black Rhino.
The city is teaming with wildlife! While monkeys will steal the food from your room or car, warthogs graze on the sides of roads, mongeese scuttle across your path, elephant may hold up traffic and if you're lucky you may even spot a lion at a watering hole at sunset.
A sunset cruise on the Zambezi river is a fantastic opportunity to see these amazing animals from another viewpoint. While you will most likely see plenty of hippos and crocodiles, elephants regularly bath and play in the waters and even cross between the two countries using their trunks and snorkels.
A lesser known delight is the ugly 5, which include hyena, warthog, wildebeest, vulture and the old man or the marabou stalk.
